Creamy Blueberry Smoothie (best one yet!) Seriously Try it
/This smoothie tastes creamy, blueberry-y, and just yummy! The ingredients in it are good for your brain, heart, and skin! Here's why:
Blueberries
Blueberries not only taste amazing but are jam-packed with good stuff! A new study shows that blueberries may improve attention and brain function! Pterostilbene can be thanked for that as well as improving mitochondria function! What is Pterostilbene? Pterostilbene is an antioxidant similar to resveratrol. Studies have shown that this antioxidant reduces the damaging effects caused by glutamate in brain cells. Why is improving mitochondrial function important? Mitochondria are the powerhouse of a cell. They need to be functioning properly to create energy (ATP) efficiently. If functioning properly they help give our body the energy it needs to perform properly and keeps us healthy. If the mitochondria is not performing efficiently it can cause problems in the muscles and brain. I could go into this but then I would have a paper on mitochondria and not on a blueberry smoothie. So I may save this one for later. Blueberries also contain the antioxidant anthocyanin, as well as fiber (this fiber when in the gut helps break down fructose!)
Avocado
Avocados contain important macronutrients like vitamin E and potassium, they also contain healthy fats, vitamin C and B6! Avocados also give my smoothies a creamy texture that I love!
Collagen
Collagen is a protein found in the skin and other connective tissues it can be a supplement added to your nutrition to boost skin elasticity, hair strength, reduce joint pains, aid digestion, and is good for cardiovascular health! You can also get collagen from bone broth! "oh you think I look 21 still? Heck I'll take it!" Thank you collagen!
Zinc
Zinc is found in the body and is known to help the immune system fight off bacteria and viruses.
Ingredients:
1 Scoop Protein Powder
1 serving Collagen Capsules (or can use powder)
